How
often do you update your ads?
Dealers
have the ability to take cars that are sold off of our site using an online
account interface so ads are updating all the time. Many dealers, though, opt
to mange their inventory via other sources, either through our print
publication or a third-party data company. If they use our print publication,
they’ll be updated monthly. Dealers using a third party data provider have
their ads updated daily.
If it is an individual seller, vehicles are displayed online just minutes after
they are placed. Vehicles are removed from the site as soon as the seller
notifies us. It is the seller’s responsibility to notify us that the car has
been sold. Most individual sellers do this quickly as they no longer wish to
receive phone calls about the vehicle they have sold.
Why
do some of your listings not have a price?
Our sales and customer service team members encourage dealers and
sellers to list prices as we believe that is the most customer service friendly
approach. However, there are some sellers that insist on generating a call to
their location to discuss price.
Most of
the vehicles listed on our site do include prices and we are confident you can
find the best car for your needs on CaribbeanTrader.com. Our search default
sorts vehicles by price so any vehicle without a listed price is at the bottom
of any search result unless the search settings are changed by the user. We
notify dealers of this to discourage them from withholding prices on their
vehicles.
Why
are the prices listed on your website different from some dealer prices on the
lot?
Sometimes the prices listed online do not identically correlate with
the price on a vehicle at the dealership. Occasionally a dealer will post a
price on our site that does not include taxes and surcharges such as title
fees. Conversely, a dealer might also have a temporary sale price for vehicles
at the dealership without posting this price online. Vehicle pricing on
CaribbeanTrader.com is solely the responsibility of the seller.
How
can I recover my username and password?
If you are
an individual advertiser or a member, your username is the email address used
to originally set up your account. You can recover your password by following
the link below:

Why
is your website not displaying correctly?
CaribbeanTrader.com
supports several internet browsers such as Internet Explorer, Netscape,
Firefox, and Safari. We recommend that you install the latest version of Flash
to view every part of the site.
If you are using Internet Explorer, check what version you are using (we
recommend at least 5.1). Please be sure that you have enabled JAVASCRIPT. You
can do this by clicking the Tools tab on the menu bar and selecting Internet
Options. In the Security tab, make sure your security setting is at Medium –
this will enable JAVASCRIPT automatically. If you prefer not to lower your
security setting, you can enable JAVASCRIPT manually through the Advanced tab.
Sometimes photos will not display if your Temporary Internet Files are full. In
your taskbar, click Tools Internet Options. A window will display with options
to delete both your cookies and files (check the box to delete off-line files
in that folder as well). This will help the pictures load and will speed up
your internet connectivity overall.
It will
only take about five minutes – we update our inventory as often as possible to
give our customers maximum exposure on our site. Any modifications made to your
listing will refresh in just a few minutes as well.
How
can I generate more leads with my ad?
Car buyers
can be very discerning. When placing a listing online, you have considerably
more to work with than a newspaper ad. CaribbeanTrader.com gives dealers the
flexibility to flesh out the vehicle they are presenting to potential buyers.
The easiest way to do this is with high-resolution photos that show off your
vehicle’s features.
For
best results, photos should be saved in .jpg or .gif format with a resolution
of 800x600 pixels. File size should be 150k or less. For more tips on uploading
